We are now hiring SEN tutors across Buckinghamshire and Hillingdon for the new school year, September 2026.
Email tuition@quickthinkers.co.ukHow we work
One-to-one alternative provision for young people who cannot manage a mainstream classroom.

Quick Thinkers is an approved alternative provision supplier to Buckinghamshire Council and the London Borough of Hillingdon. We teach one-to-one, face to face or in a mix of home and online sessions, from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, and for post-16 learners who are not in education or training.
The young people we support often have an education, health and care plan, emotionally based school avoidance, complex social, emotional and mental health needs, or a medical need that keeps them out of school. That includes pupils a local authority has a duty to educate. After a referral we match a facilitator and can start within 72 hours to 2 weeks.
A traditional lesson, with someone standing at the front, is often what makes learning feel impossible for the young people we meet. Our facilitators work beside them. Together they agree a pathway, take the pressure off, and put feeling safe enough to learn ahead of getting through a scheme of work.
3-R pathway
01
A calm, low-demand start.
02
Interest-led work that rebuilds confidence.
03
A supported return to school, another setting, or post-16.
Attendance is built up in steps, so a young person who has been avoiding school is not pushed straight back onto a full timetable. Every session is scored from 1 to 5 for engagement, and the facilitator records what the learner says, what we observe, and what the placing school feeds back.
For Key Stage 4 and post-16, we work with the school or exam centre on Functional Skills, GCSE coursework, and vocational milestones. We also attend education, health and care plan reviews, personal education plan meetings, and Team Around the Child panels with the people who commissioned the provision.
Every educator is recruited in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. That includes an Enhanced DBS check on the update service and verified references. Quick Thinkers carries public and employer liability insurance and is registered with the ICO.
